Piper Meridian Shared Ownership Program

Cabin class comfort, turbine reliability and single-engine efficiency in a class all its own.

Those with interest in a Meridian may find our TBM 700 of value. Contact us for information on a rare opportunity to lease this stunning performer.

OVERVIEW

Discover the value of the turboprop.

With better reliability than a piston-powered twin-engine aircraft and greater efficiency than a twin-turbine powered aircraft, the Meridian falls into a very rare category. Consider that it costs $1 million less than its closest competitor, and it moves to a category all its own. After a decade of use, the Piper Meridian still beats the competition in value, and remains many pilots' choice of personal aircraft. Up to five passengers can relax in the modern and spacious cabin while enjoying the reduced vibration and noise of a front-mounted turbine engine. If you think private travel is out of reach, you'll certainly be surprised by the Meridian.

DESIGN

Efficient, Elegant, Capable.

For decades, enjoying this much space meant buying a multi-engine aircraft with considerably more ownership hassle. Developed from the successful Piper Malibu platform, the Meridian changed the game by achieving similar space, performance and efficiency with a single - more reliable - turboprop engine.

Exterior:

The upright stance of the meridian gives it unmistakable ramp presence. With tall landing gear, a large cabin and long nose, it certainly looks the part. Each piece, however, lends itself to a very specific utilitarian need. Wings with very little sweep allow slow landing speeds, increasing safety. It's stance allows ample room for the large jet-powered propeller, increasing performance. Its squared body features large passenger windows and a rear-entry air-stair door for comfort. It's a compelling package, made even more so by its class-leading operating costs.

Interior:

Through the rear cabin door, a comfortable, modern space is found. Perfect for one or two, even four fit comfortably in the leather club chairs, while an executive table and beverage station make trips productive and relaxing. Up front, systems that rival even the best business jets pave the way to your destination in the safest possible way.

PERFORMANCE

High performance doesn't require two engines, just an incredible one.

In the turbine(jet) world, this engine is supreme. Equipped with the Iconic Pratt&Whitney PT-6 turboprop, the Meridian joins 65 other aircraft types as it cruises past 300 million hours of operation over four decades of use.

Paired with this unyielding performer, the Meridian launches from large or small airports with ease, pushing it to nearly 300 miles per hour at 25,000 feet in under 20 minutes, quickly removing you from the turbulence and low-level weather that makes similar-sized aircraft uncomfortable. It's an all-round performer delivering style, comfort, safety and efficiency.

COSTS

It's simple...the numbers speak for themselves:

Ownership of a 2008 Meridian turboprop with FLTshares starts around $100,000 for 1/16 share providing 25 annual flight hours.

Unique to FLTshares is our commitment to finding the right share size for your needs, not the other way around. Various levels are available up to whole ownership, with most owners falling somewhere between 1/8th and 1/2 ownership, providing 75 to 300 annual flight hours and limiting the number of total owners to between three and six per aircraft. To further enhance availability, we limit the number of sole 1/16th and 1/12th shares per aircraft.

business-aircraft-ownership-costs-piper-meridian-by-fltsharesThe financial case for shared ownership is an easy one to make.

Besides a dramatically lower acquisition cost, shared ownership utilizes the available 300 to 400 hours left unused by a typical whole owner each year, dispersing operating costs. Compare a whole owner's use to its FLTshares equivelent and the numbers, well, speak for themselves!

At 150hrs Per Year (All-In)
Acquisition Cost Savings $1,100,000
Operating Cost Savings /Yr $120,000

These example FLTshare costs are all-inclusive best-estimates, considering average market rates for a 2008 model aircraft and its associated operating costs at 600 hours per year, including average regional fuel prices as of 1/15/10 ($4.81/gal). vIt's clear that even at whole-ownership use levels, FLTshares ownership significantly reduces your costs while eliminating the hassles of aircraft ownership.
